preheat oven to about 400 degrees. mince the fresh garlic, mix it with the olive oil, add salt %26amp; pepper. drizzle this mixture over the asparagus, then place in oven and roast for about 20-25 min.
I do the same thing as SueBee except I put them in a 450 degree oven or on the grill.
Cooking time will vary depending on how big your stalks are.
Quick and Tangy Asparagus
1 pound asparagus spears, ends trimmed
1/3 cup olive oil
1 tablespoon garlic, minced
1 tablespoon chopped onion
Salt and pepper to taste
4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
1 tablespoon bleu cheese
Place the asparagus in a large pot filled with water 1 inch deep. Bring to a boil, and cook until tender, but still bright green. Drain and place on a serving dish.
Meanwhile, melt the margarine or butter in a skillet over medium heat. Stir in the garlic, and cook briefly. Stir in onion; cook until tender. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
To serve, pour sauce over the cooked asparagus. Crumble bacon and bleu cheese on top.
Put a little olive oil on a jellyroll pan or cookie sheet with sides. Sprinkle evenly garlic salt and pepper on to oil. Roll washed asparagus spears in the seasoned olive oil just enough to coat. Roast at 400 degrees F until done (or you can grill them.)
Olive oil, chopped garlic, salt/pepper...dash of water...cover pan and steam/fry!
When done add a couple of eggs and make an omelet. Whoops don't see that on your list...you'll have to eat as is...good in an italian/french loaf too. Oh you have bacon, yes I'd toss that into the mix too...roll first and fry.
Any Triscuits? Melt the blue cheese on those and have that on the side!
cut them up into bite size pieces and stir fry them
garlic/olive oil/salt and pepper
YOu might want to blanch them first to avoid over cooking

Asparagus with Orange Mustard Sauce and Sauce Mousseline
2 pounds jumbo asparagus
Orange Mustard Sauce, recipe follows
Sauce Mousseline, recipe follows
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Cook asparagus until al dente (about 5 minutes, for regular asparagus and 3 minutes for pencil asparagus, from the time the water returns to a boil).
Remove asparagus from the pot and refresh in ice water to stop the cooking process. Chill until needed.
Serve with both cold Orange Mustard Sauce and hot Sauce Mousseline.
Orange Mustard Sauce:
3 cups fresh orange juice, strained
1/4 cup grainy mustard
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground white pepper
3/4 cup heavy cream, whipped
In a medium saucepan, over medium heat, reduce the orange juice until only 1/2 cup remains. Transfer to a bowl and let cool, over a bowl of ice. Stir in mustard, salt, and pepper.
Add whipped cream and stir until well blended. Keep refrigerated until ready to use.
Yield: 1 1/2 cups
Sauce Mousseline:
3 egg yolks
4 tablespoons water
1 to 2 teaspoons lemon juice
Freshly ground white pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 pound unsalted butter, clarified
1/2 cup whipped cream
In a heat resistant mixing bowl, combine the egg yolks, water, lemon juice, pepper, and salt. Whip over hot, not boiling, water until thick and creamy. Slowly whisk in the butter, a few drops at a time, until the mixture begins to emulsify. In a slow stream, whisk in the remaining butter until it is completely incorporated. Correct seasoning, to taste. Fold in the whipped cream and keep warm until needed.
Yield: 1 1/2 cups
